While there are plenty of sound reasons for you to engage in exercise during your pregnancy, minimizing the risks of gestational diabetes isn't something that should be overlooked. So, as long as you follow some basic precautions, you can continue to exercise while pregnant. This will generally make you feel better and can even minimize some of the difficulties associated with pregnancy, such as water retention, the extra strain on your joints and insomnia. With the guidance of your doctor, you can design an exercise program that can help you stay as fit and healthy as possible, and you'll even find it easier to return to your normal weight when your pregnancy is complete.
