0 Go Riding In Style And Comfort With Zara Phillips Clothing

By Alyce Powell

Many people associate the upper classes of Britain with horses. Riding is indeed something that most members of the aristocracy enjoy. Unfortunately, the idea of a female equestrian doesn't conjure up images of a leader in the fashion stakes. It doesn't have to be this way, luckily. Zara Phillips clothing, for one, bring a sense of style to horsemanship without compromising on comfort.

Zara Phillips is the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth of Britain. Her mother is the Princess Royal, Princess Anne, the Queen's only daughter. Her father is Captain Mark Phillips and because he never had a title in his own right, neither does she or her brother, Peter. The children's parents tried to give them a normal upbringing and while they are down to earth, their lives have never been normal. After all, normality is impossible if the person who gave you your name is your uncle, Prince Charles, and your grandparents live in Buckingham Palace.

The Queen's granddaughter did extremely well at school, going on to qualify as a physiotherapist. She's also been very sporty throughout her life and took part in various sports while at school. For a while her rebellious antics were wonderful tabloid fodder but since she's married rugby player Mike Tindall and especially now that they're expecting a child, she seems to have settled down and has become the graceful young woman that a princess should be.

Princess Anne and her first husband Captain Mark Phillips shared a love of horse-riding. Princess Anne even represented Britain at the Olympic Games, in horse-riding events at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. The princess and Captain Phillips' daughter followed in their equestrian footsteps and became an accomplished rider in her own right. When she won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics in London, it was her mother who presented her with her medal.

Zara has never really been known for her sense of style. Sometimes her ensembles were so far off the fashion mark that the papers ridiculed her for it. She was, after all, a bit of a tomboy and was interested in things other than clothes. Lately she seems to have turned into the proverbial swan, however, and has won increasing praise for her style choices.

With a growing interest in fashion, it was inevitable that the young royal would try her hand at designing clothes. Not for her, however, the dainty little dresses that one would expect from a princess. She chose instead to create sporty outfits and naturally her line, which has been available since 2010, focuses on equestrian clothing.

The team number that Zara was given when she first qualified to represent the United Kingdom at international equestrian events has inspired the name for her range. It is called ZP176 and wearing pieces from the line might bring you luck, since the designer was world champion for a while. Because she knows what works for riders, her clothes are practical and comfortable but still stylish. The range includes jackets, riding t-shirts, socks, headbands, caps, chaps and neck tubes.

The range of Zara Phillips clothing has been designed for Musto Outdoor Clothing. This clothing company supplies gear for lovers of sports like sailing and riding. They're based in Britain but deliver in many other countries, even as far afield as America and Australia. If you find yourself in England, you may also want to visit one of their stores so that you can appreciate the ZP176 range first hand.
