0 A Guide to Injectable Fillers

By Andy Baromm

Injectable fillers have become a popular treatment because they are minimally invasive. A quick, relatively painless treatment every 6-12 months can keep you looking youthful without a major surgery.Because of the growing acceptance and popularity of these products, my patients have become more aware of the options.

Laugh lines

The most common area that soft tissue fillers are used to treat are laugh or smile lines. Most laugh lines soften considerably with one to two syringes of filler, but if you decide to treat the marionette lines or if your lines are particularly deep, more may be needed.

Since there are a number of available fillers for fine and deep wrinkles, both may be used in the same patient. In order to plump folds and fill the lines that often lie in the depths of those folds, physicians often layer them in the same areas. They give definition to the lips and fill other wrinkles such as laugh lines, and can be given in minutes with a tiny needle. The results are instantaneous, producing a long-lasting (6-9 months), natural enhancement, which is gentle and safe to the skin. You may return to normal activities within hours.

Lips

Women find that the last place they want to lose volume is from their lips. For many people a fuller and more sensuous mouth comes high on their wish list. Our lips start to become thinner from our late twenties, with fine lines eventually appearing around the mouth. You can restore your lips to their former glory by injecting a small amount of natural hyaluronic filler. If you are adding lost volume or just redefining the contours of your lips, the instant results of lip filler procedures will impress you. Your new lips can appear as subtle or obvious as you want.

Cheeks

Volume lost from your cheeks shows your age dramatically. Cheek Augmentation using dermal fillers is an inexpensive way of creating a youthful look without resorting to invasive surgery.

Older skin may begin to lose its elasticity and plumpness over time. This leads to sagging around the cheek and jaw area, leading to an eventual loss of the face's shape and definition. Where our cheekbones were once round and prominent they may now appear somewhat sallow and flat, causing an overall ageing effect to our appearance. Cheek augmentation helps to re-define the shape of your face, filling and lifting the cheek areas as well as tightening the surrounding skin to create a much more balanced face shape. Augmentation can also be used to improve the appearance of overly hollow cheeks and temples by adding volume to the area which gives a softer shape to an overly angular face.
