0 How To Diagnise and Prevent Hypertensive Disease

By Ramella Knoll

I would like to mention that the graph of the number of persons prone to be affected with hypertensive disease is heading northwards recently. Therefore the disease is one of the main causes of either fatality or for aggravation of other diseases of the body. There is a possibility that coronary heart disease also may inflict in majority of the cases where Hypertensive disease is noticed.

The modern day competitive trends in various walks of life add stress and tension and on top of this, the lifestyle and the food habits are considered as main causes of the disease. A sedentary lifestyle at office or business with no much physical activity and more of mental strain further aggravates the situation. A simple precautionary measures and the proper monitoring of various parameters of tests could reduce the condition or at least let you know the onset of disease at an early stage.

The problems mostly cause high blood pressure resulting in ischemic heart disease in which case the heart muscles must be supplied more oxygen, lest the heart may feel the 'burn out' condition. The blood pumping mechanism is pressurized in pumping more blood to the heart and brain. In the absence of this, you will notice swelling in legs. The enlarged left ventricle is under stress to restore the normal conditions and the risk peeps in cases of the incendiary heart disease.

Due to shortage of supply of oxygen to the vital organs of the body, the normal functionality may be affected in more than one way. Similarly, the hard-pressed heart in trying to pump more blood to the organs might cause irregular heartbeat and also pulse rate and this is likely to cause more disorders in functions of the body.

You can monitor the parameters by undergoing certain simple and economic tests especially if you are in the middle age group. The first test could be considered is ECG followed by echo-cardiogram, if required. In case of abnormality, the doctor may suggest further tests like CT Scan, calcium-score heart scan or coronary CT angiography. Depending upon the doctor's recommendation, heart MRI may be required to know the heart function from outside. To know the result of the fluid in the heart, you may undergo Pericardiocentesis.

I emphasize that depending upon the condition of the patient, the doctor may suggest angioplasty, bypass or a pacemaker to ensure regular rhythm of the heart beat, but you avoid the treatment if you add more vegetables, fish and soya protein in your daily health food to ensure absence of blood clots reducing the chances for hypertensive disease and thereby reduce the hypertensive disease problems.
